Set the moment.
Log what happens.

One decision up front, then two things worth writing down. Every number in the app is worked out from those.

1

Set your quit moment

Right now, a date two weeks out, or backdated if you already stopped. A future date runs as a countdown to quit day, not a timer stuck at zero.

2

Log cravings as they hit

How strong it is out of ten, where you are, how you feel and who you are with. Resisted or smoked, both are worth writing down.

3

Answer once a day

One diary entry a day: smoke-free or not, how heavy the cravings were, and what you spent on patches, gum or a vape.

Three things can move the clock.

SmokeFree44 counts your smoke-free time from whichever came last: the quit moment you set, a craving you logged as smoked (at the minute it happened), or a diary day you marked as smoked. Nothing else touches it. Log a craving you got through, however bad, and the count carries on. The app asks before a smoked log restarts the timer, and a smoked craving never counts toward the free version's daily craving limit, so logging a slip as a smoked craving is never blocked.

When the clock does move, the money saved, the health milestones and the smoke-free badges restart with it, and the run you just finished stays in your streak history next to your best one. The money figures are estimates from the smoking profile you enter. The recovery rings and milestones illustrate typical timelines. They are not readings of your own body, and the app is not medical advice.

What you get.

Everything below works in the free version. Pro lifts the caps on craving logs, diary days and your own tips and missions, adds your own craving tags, and opens the longer chart ranges and the other 27 themes.

01

See what you didn't burn

Money saved, plus the cigarettes, smokes or vape devices you didn't get through, worked out from your own prices and habits. A projection chart runs past today: the 1-week and 1-month views are free, 3 months and 1 year come with Pro.

02

Follow the recovery timeline

Pulse, oxygen and carbon monoxide rings over a recovery curve, plus 15 milestones from 20 minutes to 15 years. The timeline is illustrative, not a medical measurement, and a How it's calculated sheet cites a source for each claim.

03

A 37-day program around your date

A week of preparation before quit day, then thirty days after it, each with a short piece to read and room for a note. It follows your quit date, not your install date, so moving the date keeps what you've already finished.

04

Get through a craving

Log how strong it is, where you are, how you feel and who you're with, then open one of 56 coping tips, from breathing exercises to snack swaps. A trigger breakdown and a 30, 60 or 90-day trend show what keeps setting you off.

05

Cut down first, if you need to

Set a date ahead and turn on the taper for a daily target that steps down to zero on quit day. The sooner after waking you usually light up, the more of the cutting it does early. A staircase on the home screen shows the drop.

06

A slip doesn't erase the record

Nineteen badges for smoke-free days, cravings logged, diary entries, missions finished and setting your date. Every smoke-free run since your quit date is drawn to scale next to your best one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SmokeFree44 free?

Yes. The smoke-free counter, money saved, quit and taper plans, streaks, the 15 health milestones and recovery rings, all 37 missions, the 19 badges, 56 coping tips, the trigger and trend charts, share cards and reminders are free. The free version allows 2 craving logs a day (a craving logged as smoked never counts toward that), keeps up to 7 diary days at a time, and lets you add 3 of your own tips and 3 of your own missions. Savings and recovery charts show 1-week and 1-month ranges, and 3 of the 30 themes are included. Pro removes those limits and adds your own craving tags, the 3-month and 1-year ranges and every theme. It comes with a 7-day free trial, then a yearly or weekly plan, with the price shown in the app before you confirm.

Does it work for rolling tobacco or vaping, not just cigarettes?

Yes. When you set up your smoking profile you pick cigarettes, rolling tobacco or a vape. For cigarettes you enter the pack price, how many come in a pack and how many you smoke a day. For rolling tobacco it is the pouch price and how many days a pouch lasts, and for a vape it is the device or pod price and how many days one lasts. Money saved and the cigarettes, smokes or devices avoided are worked out from those figures.

What happens if I smoke? Does logging a craving reset my timer?

A craving you resisted never resets anything, however strong it was. Your smoke-free time runs from whichever came last: the quit moment you set, a craving you logged as smoked (at the minute it happened), or a diary day you marked as smoked. The app asks you to confirm before a smoked log restarts the timer. When it does, money saved, the health milestones and the smoke-free badges restart from that point, and the run you just finished stays in your streak history. A craving logged as smoked never counts toward the free daily limit, so logging a slip as a smoked craving is never blocked.

Can I set a quit date in the future, or cut down first?

Yes. Pick a future date and the app counts down to it, with preparation missions for the week before. You can also turn on the taper, which sets a daily target from what you use now down to zero on quit day. If you usually smoke soon after waking, it makes more of the cuts early. The taper is a schedule built from your own numbers, not a medical plan. SmokeFree44 does not dose or schedule patches, gum or medication, so talk to a doctor or pharmacist about those.

Does it work offline, and who can see my data?

Only you. There is no account and no server: your quit plan, smoking profile, cravings, diary, mission notes and badges are stored in the app on your phone, and the counter, logs, missions, tips and reminders work without a connection. The app goes online to send anonymous crash and usage stats, to check a Pro subscription with the App Store or Google Play, and to load the feature-request board if you open it. None of that includes what you enter. Progress cards leave the app only when you tap Share, and uninstalling the app deletes your data from the phone.

Are the health milestones and money saved exact?

No. Money saved and cigarettes avoided are estimates: the app multiplies the smoking profile you enter by your smoke-free time, because it does not log what you would have smoked day by day. Patch, gum or vape spend you record in the diary is shown as its own total and is not taken off the savings figure. The pulse, oxygen and carbon monoxide rings and the 15 milestones are motivational markers based on typical recovery timelines, not measurements of your body, and a How it's calculated sheet in the app lists the source behind each claim. SmokeFree44 is not medical advice.
